Earlier this year I made one of the

Earlier this year I made one of the
best decisions of my life so far. I was sitting in my couch on Family Day when
I decided to look up fitness clubs for women only. The WFCC website came up and
I gave them a call. I booked an appointment that same day, came in to have a
look around, signed up, and booked my complimentary fitness and nutrition
consultations.
Within the first two weeks I began to see results. I stuck to her plan religiously and combined it with regular fitness sessions with a WFCC trainer.
Six months later I have dropped almost 30 pounds and gone from a size 12 to a size 6! I have learned how to eat smartly in healthy ways that have become part of my daily routine.

I remember having my
initial consultation with Maria, with a bit of frustration, thinking I was
eating ‘okay’, but knew there were things I needed to change here and
there. However, I never knew the actual 'junk' I was putting into my body.

After a routine checkup,
my Dr. recommended that I seriously consider losing weight and begin a regular
exercise program. I had been fit and slim before but over the past few years I
had let myself go. I knew that in order to regain my health I needed to lose
weight and keep it off! My usual method for losing weight was to “diet” and
count calories. This method had worked to some degree although the weight
always came back. I needed to try a different approach and decided to meet with
Maria and seek her advice.
My first meeting with
Maria was a real eye opener. She was a true professional and I was
confident that she had the credentials and experience to help me reach my goal.
I had to sign a Client
Commitment Contract and agree to achieve my weight loss goal and healthy body
fat percentage. Maria didn’t believe that counting calories was an effective
way to lose weight. She asked about any medical conditions I might have and
then provided me with a weight loss program and food guide that was
specifically geared to my health issues.
I was given a weekly
food journal to record everything I ate and drank on a daily basis. I also had
to record daily physical activity (cardio minutes and resistance minutes). We
met every week for a weigh in and to review my progress. She educated me on
making healthy food choices and combining different foods for maximum health
benefits. Maria also provided me with written tips and informative
literature that would further my education into healthy eating.
I came to understand
that losing weight and being fit was all about making informed and healthy
lifestyle choices. I was committed to follow Maria’s recommendations and my
weekly weight loss was all the incentive that I needed.
As the weight came off
and I increased my weekly exercise, I began to feel like a different person. I
had more energy and the aches and pains in my joints subsided. Family and
friends began to notice my weight loss and comment on how great I looked. The
positive results of my most recent blood work show how far I have come during
my time with Maria. The Dr. is thrilled and so am I!
Maria educated me in how
to achieve and maintain a healthy attitude towards food.
It feels great to be
healthy again and now I know how to maintain this healthy lifestyle.

Part of my resolution to myself for was to start taking care of myself. I wanted to get healthy and I didn’t want to do it alone. Her many handouts make the program easy to follow at home, and she is always available if you have questions. The best part is that I am enjoying and proud of my slimmer, stronger physique. I would recommend that Maria be part of your nutritional regime from the onset, so that you can take her program and incorporate it into your life, especially for those who have a hectic lifestyle. You’ll quickly learn that with some thoughtful planning eating will become much more nutritious, which has lasting results.
