Hot and Healthy Cocoa – Recipe

If you like chocolate especially on cold winter days, then you will love such a simple and easy to make recipe!
This chocolate drink will satisfy your craving and help you burn more fat. In addition, the blend is loaded with powerful antioxidants in the cocoa, which fights the ageing process and controls blood sugar.
In the final drink concoction, you will obtain the satisfying amount of chocolate along with muscle feeding protein, healthy fats in the form of potent medium chain triglycerides from coconut cream and as said before, lots of antioxidants.
I recommend choosing organic cocoa and organic coffee. Remember, pesticides residues that can be present in the conventional food can cause estrogenic effects in men and women which make fat loss much harder. Pesticides are considered to be ‘xenoestrogens’ that have many negative consequences in the body. I think the more we demand organic products, prices will come down that is long overdue in our country.

Ingredients:
·         1 Tbsp unsweetened organic cocoa powder
·         10 oz unsweetened almond milk or filtered water or organic coffee or unsweetened chocolate tea as the liquid base
·         2 Tbsp canned coconut milk (thick)
·         ½ scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (I like Genuine Health or Sunwarrior)
·         touch of natural vanilla extract
·         touch of cinnamon
·         Stevia extract, optional and only if you need more sweetness

Instructions:
1.      Buy unsweetened organic cocoa powder. Remember, don’t buy the prepackaged hot chocolate that is loaded with sugar, corn syrup and hydrogenated oils (this is garbage).
2.      Start the stove - low heat. In a small saucepan mix cocoa with almond milk or liquid of your choice. Use a whisk to blend the cocoa evenly.
3.      Add your favorite protein powder, cinnamon and vanilla extract while still stirring over the low heat.
4.      If the drink is not sweet enough you can add stevia extract, but this is optional.
5.      When it’s done garnish with thick coconut milk. I like to add more healthy fats. This organic milk like cream can be found in the Asian section in most grocery stores.

Enjoy your chocolate drink!
